The Art Of Doing Nothing
How often do you just…do nothing? With a whirlwind of jobs, spouses, kids, cleaning, social functions, family dinners, and much more tugging at you endlessly, how often do you carve out time JUST FOR YOU? Maybe you want to sit and just do nothing. Or perhaps, you desire some time to indulge in a favorite hobby of yours. Here’s the million dollar question: Can you engage in this downtime GUILT FREE?
It would be so easy for many of us to get swept up in the current vibe of hustle culture. It is exciting to watch ourselves transform into “Boss Babes” and plot our global takeover. So many of you are out there killing it! You are building powerful businesses and are true leaders on the creative edge of something magnificent. But in addition to the grind, are you also taking time to just simply be alive?
What if we took a moment to watch the birds out our living room window? Or listen to the crackle of our campfire? When was the last time you took a nap? Or set 10-minutes aside to meditate? It’s easy to say, “I don’t have the time!” (And I have no doubt that schedules are stacked.) But I also wonder if the deeper meaning behind “I don’t have the time” is actually, “I feel guilty when I make the time to do something just for myself.”
Whoever needs to hear this….YOU’RE DOING AWESOME. You’re doing the most and you’re kicking major butt. Don’t forget the importance of refilling your empty cup. And some days, refilling that cup means doing absolutely “nothing.”
That nothing can be a whole lot of something for a tired soul.
